A knowledge day on sustainability, CSDR compliance and circular economy

- Categories : Top

In today’s fast-paced world staying ahead of trends in presentation is essential for businesses, museums, designers, and creatives alike.

This knowledge day, organized by one of our suppliers of sustainable acrylic materials Igepa, brought together industry professionals to share insights and solutions, explore new technologies, and deepen their understanding of visual communication and presentation trends.

Sustainability is a growing concern within a number of industries, and the fact that such knowledge days are organized reflects this shift. Many sessions and exhibits emphasized sustainable materials for our plinths and display cases, eco-friendly production processes, and the role of innovation and the AI in creating more sustainable solutions for presentation. As the industry moves towards greener practices, staying informed about these advancements is crucial for staying competitive and responsible – something that we certainly feel strong about here at Solits.

What did we learn?

Day’s general agenda:
The day focused on the (green) future, new sustainable materials and  the upcoming changes in the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) legislation, which places more emphasis on sustainability and mandatory reporting. We also gained insight into B-corp certification, which has now been obtained by 3600 companies worldwide, including but not limited to Auping, Dopper, Tony's Chocolonely, Triodos Bank, WeTransfer, Snappcar, Ben & Jerry's en Patagonia.

How can Solits make the world better?

How can we reduce our ecological footprint during the production of our plinths and display cases? Are there any new sustainable materials available on the market for making our pedestals? What exactly happens to the leftover material from our recyclable acrylic display cases after the supplier picks it up? How can we improve our recycling practices and set up the new green goals for the next year? These questions, and many others, were keeping us busy the whole day.

Meet the like-minded crowd!

There was, of course, time and space for networking and exchanging insights. We also enjoyed a tour of the company, followed by a delicious lunch.

Why was it important for Solits to attend?

At Solits, we love to stay ahead of the curve, and we are constantly looking for new ideas for our display solutions. We also love to step away from our daily routines and to do something educational,  inspirational and simply fun. This helps us help our customers in the best way possible. Simply put, we enjoyed the team and sustainability spirit of the event and wanted to share it with you!
